Happy and creative. Curious and open-minded. In tune with nature and environmentally aware. This is our vision for children at Little Green House. And what a perfect fit for our creche with urban, hip, and creative Zurich-Altstetten.
Forest pirates and meadows explorers at Baslerpark in Zurich-Altstetten.
Our House at Baslerpark welcomes 50 babies, toddlers and children between 3 months up to the start of kindergarten at approximately four years of age. In four age-homogenous groups, we offer children a place to play, grow and learn. Our bright, light-flooded and generous rooms at the ground floor of the Baslerpark building are spread across 700 square metres and are complemented by our own garden and vegetable patch. Whether we spend time in a nearby park, the forest or our own garden. We will be outside, no matter what! Find out more about our creche’s concept “Woods & Wellbeing“, and why spending time outside and living a healthy lifestyle are so important to us.
Like all Little Green Houses, our childcare centre in Zurich-Altstetten is multilingual: German, English, French. Have a look at our concept “Living Languages“, if you would like to learn more about our language concept and the amazing language learning capabilities of babies and toddlers.
To live and learn with the children according to their interests and affinity, we structure our groups by age.
3 months to ca. 1 years
ca. 1 years to ca. 2 years
ca. 2 years to ca. 3 years
Ca. 3 year to ca. 4 years (start of kindergarten)
By creating these age-homogenous groups, we can specifically stimulate and accompany the children’s development, and create an environment that corresponds to the respective development stage of the Little Green House babies and children.

Or how about a quick workout, while your child is happily playing with its friends? There is a gym in the same building as Little Green House.

About me: I have completed my five years of educational training in a charitable, educational centre close to Berlin. During my training, I got to know different social institutions: schools, childcare centres, residential homes and hospitals. It’s been during these five years that I realised I really wanted to spend my professional life working with children. Following my initial training, I studied social pedagogy in the Netherlands, working in a kindergarten and a preschool parallel to my studies. The time in the Netherlands is an essential element in the development of my pedagogic belief system. I have been fascinated by the Dutch image of the child and their way of integrating different cultures and persons with disabilities in daily life.
Following my diploma in The Netherlands, I returned to Berlin where I worked for six years in an inclusive childcare centre and kindergarten. In parallel with work, I studied for my diploma in health and social matters in Berlin and Hannover. My husband and I moved to Switzerland in 2014. Since then I have been working as a pedagogic director in 2 bilingual childcare centres in Zurich.
When I first heard about Little Green House, I was immediately attracted by its concept. When I was little, my parents moved with my brother and me to a house in the forest. Nature at my doorstep – it has been wonderful! I look forward to sharing my passion for nature and my knowledge of trees, flowers and animals with the children at Little Green House.
Together with my team, I want to make Little Green House Zurich-Altstetten a place where people meet; where children and parents feel welcome, where they exchange views and experiences, and where everybody finds his/her personal place of trust.
