In Gland, we have extended the Little Green House philosophy and concept to the early school years (P1 and P2, generally ages 4 to 6), where we convey the joy of learning in a playful way.

Our primary school in Gland covers the first two years of the cantonal school system and is open for children aged ca. 4 to ca. 6.

While at our school children learn in accordance with the canton’s guidelines for the school system, it is the children’s curiosity and joy of discovery that we take as the basis for joyful and efficient learning. That is why we ensure that there is enough time to integrate play and to learn by discovering nature and the world around us.

Learning in small groups of a maximum of 15 children allows us to focus on the individual children, their needs and their level of development in a very individual manner. At the same time, we maintain our concept of language immersion and conduct our lessons in French and English.

In the times before and after the lessons, during lunch breaks and in the holidays, the children can continue to be looked after at Little Green House and continue to enjoy the exposure to the three languages – German, in addition to French and English – spoken at our childcare in Gland.

Specialisation: Master in Early Childhood Education

Experience : When I first heard about Little Green House back in 2013, I knew immediately that I wanted to become part of the team. I especially liked Little Green House’s values, which perfectly match my own: developing children in a multilingual environment to become open-minded individuals; and respecting and living in harmony with nature and growing up healthily.

I hold a Master of Early Childhood Education (0 to 8 years) from a school placing the child at the centre of learning. Moreover, I’m a supporter of a holistic approach to education, and I’m convinced that education is only effective, when the child perceives it as pleasant, varied, practical and relevant in the context of its daily experiences.

I’ve gathered my first experience as a teacher in 2002 in New York in a private school, where I was responsible for a class of children aged 4 to 6 years. Since moving to Switzerland, I have been working in an international school in Zurich, in a class of children between 3 and 6 years. In that school I also helped develop a multilingual programme.

I have a vast experience in multilingual education, from all angles of my life: as a student, as a teacher, but also as a parent. As a mother of three trilingual children I know both the joy and the challenges linked to educating polyglot and multicultural children.
